A Robust Lead Management System Can Dramatically Increase Lead ROI

ProspectZone is the industry leader in helping agents close more leads by delivering only the highest quality leads, along with the most effective lead management tool for health insurance producers.

July 6, 2009

There are companies that furnish you with insurance leads, and there are companies that furnish you with leads and the tools to help you close more of them.

You may feel that you’re getting along fine without a lead management system, but top producers know better. Without quality lead management, it’s hard to handle your insurance leads effectively and efficiently — especially if you’re looking to grow your agency and pipeline.

Even if you do have a management tool, it’s important to know that lead management systems aren’t all created equal.

Here are important features to consider when weighing different systems:

  • Automatic importing. Don’t waste your time with unnecessary data entry. A system that imports leads from all your vendors, your website and any other online marketing campaign will eliminate juggling — and headaches.

  • Control. If you can’t control how many leads you get, you can’t budget your lead purchases for optimal results. You end up relying on a lot of guesswork. Make sure you choose a system that lets you adjust your lead maximums and minimums, add or remove filters, and recharge your account 24 hours a day. Select a company that gives you full control over your account.
  • Built-in calendar. This may seem like a no-brainer, but a calendar that is built in to your lead management system, with features like pop-up reminders makes a tremendous difference. Scheduling follow-up calls, meetings, renewals and important client events are just some of the ways you will increase retention rates by staying on top of your insurance leads before and after the policy is written.

Here’s an extra tip you can use right away. Use your calendar to schedule follow-up calls with new clients…about nine or ten months after the start of their coverage. That’s about the time they’ll probably get a letter from the carrier informing them of changes to their coverage or increases to their premium!

By calling them before they’re tempted to go with another agent, you can increase your retention rate and your return on that lead investment. Invite them to visit your online quoting engine or call you to compare other plans. They may see that their current plan, even with the premium increase, is the best one on the market for them. Or you may be able to find them a more affordable alternative.

ProspectZone has become the biggest provider of insurance leads in the U.S. today because of its unyielding commitment to providing the highest lead quality. This commitment starts by supplying agents with the best tools possible — the tools that will help them close leads.
